Luna the therapy dog visit a nursing home

By on March 9, 2017

We had a therapy dog visit to a local elementary school today. They are putting on a play where many of the children will be cast as different types of dogs. I met two young ladies who are going to be poodles.

Luna at an elementary school with very young children running towards her and screaming “it’s a poodle !” at the top of their lungs was an interesting experience. I had to do a lot of settle, and calm down exercises with her. She finally got that these young people were actually coming to love on her and they stopped scaring her so much.

I also got to educate some nice young people about how they should act around dogs. It was a good visit.
